Line Drawing Project #1 Hatching, Cross Hatching and Weighted Line

To start this project I tinted my paper with coffee and lightly sketched out Cthulhu has well as were I wanted my hatching and cross hatching marks to be.

Next I outlined all of him and the hatching and cross hatching marks I made. Since my goal was to make this look like an old journal I added some burn marks as well as some splatters.
It was pointed out to me that his wings needed something. So I added more of a weighted line to them and added ink wash to the shadows on his wing to make it appear more like his wings are tucked back. I also added more splatters, but they were lighter then the others and don't appear that good. I think next time I would add more darker splatters

This project contains hatching contour, cross hatching contour, some parts have weighted line, as well as broken line inside the wing. My goal was to make it look like an old journal paper. To do this I tinted the paper with coffee and burned the edges. Some of the burnt detail got lost when I took a picture of the paper because the paper was too big for my camera to capture. I added ink wash to the shadow parts of his wings and added a little bit more drips of ink wash. It probably could of used more drips of ink and ink wash as well. This project idea is based on  H. P. Lovecraft's mythos.

Mandala Project

The color scheme of my project is monochramtic purple and the background is yellow which is complementary to purple. Because of my lighting the color is not showing up that well. The colors are purple and yellow, but seem to be showing up with a blueish and orange tint

Final Project

After we did the change series I found out that I want to play around with oil and soft pastels a little more and see what kind of effects...
